Cambodia has two prominent seasons, a dry season and a rainy season. Cambodia’s dry season runs from November to April, during which the country enjoys blue skies, warmer temperatures and less humidity. Cambodia’s hottest weather arrives between March and April, with average temperatures of 35°C. During this period, humidity begins to rise before the rainy season.
Cambodia’s rainy season, between May to October, welcomes lush, green fields and brief, powerful showers. Average temperatures remain high, between 30°C and travellers will still enjoy many of the country’s highlights on our Cambodia trips.
Best Time To Visit
Cambodia is a year-round destination, so the best time to visit Cambodia is down to preference. Travellers can experience warm temperatures during Cambodia’s dry season, from November to April. This is a great time to watch the sunrise over the world-famous Angkor Wat. Experience vibrant culture during the Cambodian New Year, Khmer New Year, which falls in April.
Travellers who visit Cambodia during the rainy season, from May to October, will experience fewer crowds and lower prices. The rainy season often only involves short showers in the afternoon, creating green landscapes, flowing rivers and cascading waterfalls. Pack a poncho and embrace the wonders of Cambodia!
Customs & Culture
Cambodia is predominantly a Buddhist country, and travellers should be mindful of traditions. It is respectful to greet locals by placing your palms together in a prayer-like pose and bowing forward. Dress modestly whilst visiting any temples or places of worship. All travellers should be mindful to cover their shoulders and knees. Passports & Visas
